WHO IS BEHIND IT
Built on More Than 30 Years in Lending, Real Estate and Building
Shelter Secure was developed by Paul Burgess, a California real estate broker and Oregon principal broker. He started in lending as a loan officer, earned his broker’s license and opened his own mortgage company. Alongside it he built a retail practice representing buyers and sellers. Raised working construction with his father, a general contractor, he also bought, improved and sold his own investment properties.
After years of seeing how changing circumstances affect households, he developed Shelter Secure to help people understand what supports their homes, recognize vulnerabilities, and make more informed plans for the future.

What exactly is Shelter Secure?
Shelter Secure provides education and personalized household reporting to help you understand your home's essential dependencies, financial picture, and opportunities to improve readiness and continuity.
Do I need to own a home?
No. Shelter Secure is for homeowners and renters, in town or rural. Your bonus report can even be used for a property you're interested in, or given to someone else.
What's the difference between Grid-Adjacent and the Shelter Report System?
The Grid-Adjacent course ($67) teaches the ideas: how energy, water, food, shelter and money work together in a household. It includes six guided sections, a workbook and audio, and the full-color digital book. The Shelter Report System ($179) applies those ideas to your own household with personalized reports and plans. You can buy either one on its own, or both together for $199.
Can I update my information later?
Yes. Come back whenever life changes, update your answers and generate a fresh report. Earlier reports stay in your library so you can see your progress.
Will someone inspect my home?
No. The Shelter Report System is automated and educational, based on the information you provide. It is not an inspection, an appraisal, or financial, lending, insurance or legal advice. Professional consultation is separate and not included.
What happens after I purchase?
Checkout is handled securely through SamCart. For the course, your access link arrives in your purchase email. For the Shelter Report System, you receive an email invitation to set your own password, then sign in at app.sheltersecurenow.com and start with Quick View. A free video instruction manual walks you through each section.
What if it isn't right for me?
